No Time for Angst rant-off at EZ-Board.

File Sharing: the guage of stupidity.
This mp3-swapping file sharing situation is getting kind of stupid all around.

On one side of the issue, there exists a group of artists and publishers who wish to stop the piracy of their works. This - in itself - is noble. However, they're overpricing, overcompensating for their advertising campaigns(music videos), and generally not selling a product at the price people will pay for it.

On another note, I wonder what their stance on mp3s would be if they hadn't gained a legal stranglehold over the industry back in the 80s.

But on the other side, we see America's Dullest doing everything they can do to steal it anyway. "Well, it's like copying a song off the radio, but with cd quality and no DJs talking." So, it's more like copying a cd? "It's all crap anyway." Why so eager to listen to it, then? I see these people, and they seem to act under two assumptions. First, they seem to need the newest pile of crap to come over the airwaves. Second, that the television is the only source of music.

Just a whole bunch of people making a big stink over crap that ain't worth it.
Happier News

The air purifier has been helping me sleep, and sleep well. Sleeping well is helping to lift some of the angst away.

Work has been plentiful, so I may just be able to get that pedal for my 4-Track. The result will be slightly better sounding music.

Finished watching the Tenchi Universe series last night. Was very pleased with the ending. Still reading the Guardian of the Flames books (on book 2 now). Levelling up my Pokemon in Sapphire to prepare for the Elite 4. I'm going to want my entire time to be at level 50 - including a Feebas/Milotic which I'm raising from lvl 5. Other party levels are 52, 50, 48, 45, and 44.
