And off I go to bed, now.

Why can't we have a change of pace?
I'm getting a staggered work week coming up. Monday/Wednesday/Friday. "On call" but not counting on it the other two days. This is because my hours suck anyway, and it at least saves gas. So, I can finally work on music without it cutting into my only real time off, and I'll have time to wash clothes as well.

Odd tangent: sometimes I won't use fabric softener, just for laughs. I personally don't care, but my girlfriend does. So, "sometimes" is effectively limited to when I wash my own clothes.

I've been buying albums, lately.
  • Misfits - Walk Among Us.
    Mmmm Brain Eaters.
  • Yugi-Oh
Er, the store was closing, and I got it cheap. The funny thing is that there are nu-metal songs on this cd. It's about time, I say. Nu-metal needs to die. Yugi is the harbinger of nu-metal death.
  • Ministry - Animositisomina
I had to hear it to believe it. Ministry put out a good album. I hate to sound like I'm putting them down, but they put out a damn good album. To prove it, you can listen to it on their site.
  • Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around.
Interesting stuff. Got it on the advice of a friend, and may have to pick up American III for his version of Mercy Seat.

As far as my own stuff goes, Spectra took over #1 in Del Valle again. They deserve it more, but it's kind of fun to watch the rankings go back and forth. I mean, they have a very professional sound, are incredably superior in their execution. yet I can still compete with 'em. It's a good feeling, and I have to wish them the best of luck.

As for me.. I figure if I'm ever desperate enough, I could put a real band together. The problems with this are numerous, however. I'd need: someone sober; someone who would let me carry out this vision, for which I'd take turns and help them out with theirs; space to practice; people who are in this for more fun and art than money and glory. I like my little pieces of glory, but only because they add to the fun.

I just don't see it happening. I'll keep plugging away, writing decent songs and recording them poorly. Nothing great here.

But someone obviously likes it anyway...
