The World Says, "I have BASS"
Yeah. I recorded the bass for Recess. This leaves vocals. That means singing.
Observation #1: Rock instruments look like the male member. Drumsticks? Guitars? The Bass guitar? Long in the middle, with a little bulb to top it off. Microphones, too. The difference, in the long run, is what you do with it. Drumsticks, guitar, bass: work your hands around it and sweet music will come up. Microphone: put your mouth up to it, take a deep breath, and...
I'm sorry. I just can't.
Observation #2 I have no training with vocals. I have neither the privacy nor the assistance needed to practice. All I have are some mostly finished songs and a somewhat inexpesnive microphone. With a stand. I can practice anything else by plugging headphones into the output device and closing the door. I can't plug headphones into my mouth.
All I really need is the privacy to practice, and a bit of confidence in that department. I didn't suck the few times I did Karaoke, but that's likely because I knew that not being confident would make me suck in front of an audience. Having no audience, it's easier to suck. If that makes sense.
On a humorous note:
The movie "Signs" in four easy steps. - It was just too good to not post.
