No Time for Angst rant-off at EZ-Board.

I'm not the most religious person ever. In fact, I find religions to be humorous in a way which unnerves my friends. I'm sorry about that, and I do try to keep my mouth shut.

However, this national offense of the phrase "under God" is just a bit stupid. A true melding pot doesn't mean we shouldn't have to hear the name of the other guy's favorite deity. It means we shrug it off. Faith means that you're not bothered those two little words. If you can't shrug them off, then maybe you're practicing the wrong faith. I take offense to cars loaded up with Christian bumper stickers and cute little mass-marketed fish. I'd rather see them and fly my "Cthulhu Loves You" bumper sticker just as proudly than know it could spark another lawsuit. Free speech means you sometimes have to read and hear what the other guy is thinking. A "melding pot," means you should let him say or write it.

Seriously, people. If all it took was invoking the name of a deity to convert someone else, then this world would already be a lot more peaceful. <introspection>Or dead. But that's still peaceful. </introspection>
    In lighter news,
  • I made it to round two of the Iron Man DM competition on the D&D boards.
  • Also, I finally got my grubby hands on the Beany & Cecil Ultimate Collection dvd.
  • My girlfriend bought me a copy of Plan 9 From Outer Space on dvd.
  • While helping my girlfriend and her mother move some of their grandparents' property, she found a pocket knife belonging to her great grandfather. Since I've never owned one, she wanted me to have it. It's still very sharp and well tended.
  • I had a sizeable pile of tender, delicious beef placed in a soft taco shell. For breakfast.
By the way Frenzal Rhomb is a great band. Seen them live twice. You Can't Move Into My House is a wonderful song.
